Bang Nam Phueng Homestay
Homestay Certified Standard 2006
Highlight: Boating down the Chao Phraya River. See the 100-year-old home and visit the local market and fruit orchards.
Type: Culture and lifestyle
The vast variety of fruits grown in the fruit orchards drew in bees to build hives everywhere. Therefore, the villagers would bring a great quantity of honey they could harvest and offer it to the monks. The village got its name “Bang Nam Phueng” (honey village) for this reason. Students have come to do research on the homestay here so the Tambon Administrative Organization and the village leaders joined together to facilitate the students with accommodation. Forms that time on, students have regularly come in to visit on study tours, which led to the homestay at Bang Nam Phueng. The founder of the homestay was Ms. Mali Phunsawat. There is as well a community market (Talad Bang Nam Phung) so the homestay here has a potential to support eco-tourism groups who have interests in bird watching, boating and cycling around the community.
